Laptop Loaner Agreement

I understand that by borrowing this laptop, I am responsible for its return. I agree never to leave the computer unattended or in the care of another. If the laptop is stolen while it is on loan to me, I am responsible for the total cost of replacing the device. Borrowers must report computer defects/damage to table workers when the laptop is returned. Laptops must be returned to the main service counter at least one and a half hours before the library`s main switch is closed. It`s time for an inspection. Borrowers must wait for a table attendant to fully check in before they can leave the office. Upon check-in, the laptop is restarted and checked by library staff to check functionality and damage. Laptops should not be left on the library or left at the main counter without being handed over to a librarian. ensure that there will be no penalties, fees or charges. A student`s privilege to leave a laptop can be removed indefinitely if the student does not return the laptop at maturity.

Laptops that are more than 4 hours late are considered stolen/lost and the corresponding fine is imposed and the Ministry of Public Security is informed. Under no circumstances should a borrower leave a laptop in their custody unattended. Fees and fines for lost and damaged devices are as follows: these devices can only be used for academic purposes. Note that documents cannot be stored on laptops – data files must be backed up to Google Drive. Any personal documents that might be stored on the laptop will be permanently erased after restarting the laptop. Users should not change, modify, or modify the configuration settings of the pre-installed software on laptops. OCAD U IT Services installs a management client on all our laptops: this software allows us to inventory, track, block and update software and settings on computers. The duration of this loan is between the date of issue and the date indicated above in the document.
